BIRNA uses Google Analytics 4 only if you actively allow analytics. Analytics is disabled by default.

If enabled, Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source and interactions with the website.

BIRNA does not send your name or email address to Google Analytics.

You can decline analytics when first visiting the site and change your choice at any time through Analytics settings in the footer.

If you subscribe to the BIRNA newsletter, your email address is provided voluntarily and processed through Kit for the purpose of sending the content you requested.

Subscription uses double opt-in, meaning you must confirm your email address before becoming an active subscriber.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each email.

BIRNA stores your analytics-consent preference locally so the website can remember your choice.

Google Analytics cookies are only created after you choose to allow analytics.

BIRNA currently uses:

• Google Analytics for optional website analytics
• Kit for newsletter subscriptions and delivery
• Vercel for website hosting

These service providers may process information outside Iceland or the European Economic Area in accordance with their applicable data-protection arrangements.

Under applicable data-protection law, you may have rights including access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and the right to object to certain processing.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd).
